Wood fibre insulation fitter + lime plasterer

Hi all
So, after a few failed DIY jobs, I have come to the conclusion I will not be able to fit the wood fibre insulation and lime plastering on my walls that I hoped to do myself. It will be pointless in even attempting it.

I know this site/form has people who mainly do all the work yourselves (I am totally impressed with it all), but I've accepted that it's not something I can do.

I am wondering if anyone knows a professional who can in the South-west London, Kingston/Richmond, Surrey areas.

I've spent pretty much all morning trying to find someone and it's mainly been no, due to lack of experience with either.

As your in London you shouldn't have too much trouble finding someone. There are a number of FB groups where lime specialists hang out, here's some links, join them and post a 'shout out'. You should get some interest.

You tend to get different types of lime plasterer, firstly the traditionalist who slakes lime the original way, they may not be so interested in a wood fibre project. Then you get the more practical lime plasterer (but no less experienced) who will be interested in your project and are happy to use all types of lime whether it be non-hydraulic or NHL, and fit the wood fibre boards, etc. And finally you sometimes get the modern plasterer (gypsum trained) who's had experience with both gypsum and lime.

I appreciate this so so much! Thank you. I was feeling a bit disheartened today as I was calling around after a google search and most plasterers said they don't do lime plastering. The FB groups will certainly be a huge help!

Thank you again! I can't wait to find someone who can quote me and I just need to hopefully save up and then get on with the work. I was hoping someone would let me learn with them too, it's something I'd love. But i'll see what they say

I tried to go down the wood fibre route on one wall and regretted it, ended up ripping it out and doing 3 coat lime with hemp - when looking for an installer make sure they actually take in interest in how to properly install it following the guidance. Unfortunately the one I chose did none of that and treated it like he was installing plasterboard. Most joiners etc I spoke to would not touch it / were not aware of it. If you are good at DIY in theory it is easy to do.
