I am going to be closing up an external doorway soon, I intend to fix the old door to the outside of the frame, insulate then plaster over the inside.
To bridge the gap on the inside I was going to nail lath across the door frame then lime plaster into that, would wire mesh be better? The frame seems solid, the walls either side are clay lump and will also be plastered so I am hoping it will be continuous, or , just to show that there was once something there I could put some timber to break the plastered wall up, anyhow , wire mesh or lath guys for an amateur plasterer?
Also , do I need any kind of membrane between the old door and insulating (cellotex)?
