Windows - What are these? And where can I get some more?

Most of the windows in my house look like the pictures below. But I've got a couple of ugly casements from the 1950s that I would really like to replace with something a bit more in keeping with the rest.

Can anyone recommend a supplier who could build me some more like this? I've been ringing around for the last couple of days and no one seems able or interested... I'm in Worcestershire.

BTW - My house was built in 1862.. I think the windows are original. Anyone think otherwise?

Have a look in your Yellow Pages for joinery companies who will make bespoke window frames - there won't be any shortage of them.

Take your photos and some guidance dimensions to a few of them and ask them to quote. The more detail you are able to give them, in the way of moulding shapes, glazing bar thicknesses, and so on, the more accurate to your existing windows the end result should be.

The usual caveat however: unless listed or in a Conservation Area, you may have to consider double glazing.
