Windows are go!

So the joiner finally turner up with the new windows!
Sliding sash, timber, double glazed (heritage glazing).
Took them all day (9.30 to 3.00) to put one small window in - there are 6 more !
Luckily the boxes are still there, and the weights (though they need to add more weight for the double glazing). Some repair to the outer frame needed (new sill and repair to the style) and new brass pulleys, but it's looking good. Properly maintained should last another 100 years......

Still got the brass furniture to apply, and paint, but it's a big difference!

They look very good. The sashes have nice slim woodwork.

What type of paint and colour are you going for?

Colour? Well if I were a true purist, they would have to be dark brown.

But I'm not going that far lol.

I had planned to paint them cream with the outer frame navy blue like next door, but the brickwork might put pay to that (see separate thread).

Basically I think that the solution to the shot brickwork issue is to cover the façade with brick slips (I have found the exact right size and colour - newly made*) but that means the window recess will have to be plastered/rendered, so the whole thing will probably end up white.

*finding the bricks was the easy part, getting a bricklayer out to quote is not as easy!
