I've bought a Victorian house, which I'm renovating and adding an extension to. The existing house had already had the windows replaced with upvc before I bought it, but these had been built into the existing wooden boxes with architrave, so as upvc windows go they look good.
I'm just wondering what to do on the extension. The external brickwork, sills, roof etc are all being matched to the original house, and the windows are upvc again to match. The extension also has bifold and patio doors. Do I have the windows and doors boxed in with architrave like the existing house, or should these be more modern as it's an extension?
