I understand that mortar made with hydrate/putty won't set whilst wet. Over the last few weeks I've been doing brickwork repairs round the whole house. Some areas have had some damp issues due to higher external ground levels, leaking gutters and leaking plumbing. Now that those problems are sorted, the walls will take some time to dry (9 inch brick). So the mortar I did in those areas hasn't really set at all. Will it be OK? Will it set eventually? Or is it too late now, has it been too wet for too long, and should I do those bits all over again?
One particularly wet wall I repaired around 4 months ago, and it dried at first, but then the plumbing leak got worse and worse and it's got wetter and wetter. Other parts I did probably two weeks ago, and they've never really been dry.
Many thanks for your help...
