Five years ago I had a new slate roof put on my property during mid summer. The very first day after stripping off a good area of old tiles, the heavens opened up and the rain cascaded down.
Over the last couple of days, I’ve had to remove about a dozen courses of brickwork from a wall that supports a lean-to roof (bedroom, bathroom etc below) because the upper part of the wall was in danger of collapsing into the roof, this unfortunately has meant going down below the lean-to roofs lead flashing so I can now see down into the loft.
Yesterday, I tried covering the area with plastic tarpaulin. What does God do? Send 35-45 mph gusts of wind making it an absolute nightmare to secure down and today heavy rain which I understand is here for the foreseeable future. I’m now absolutely drenched trying to keep everything covered up. I’m sure that once the job is done it’ll be back to drought conditions.
If he exists then surely he’s having a laugh? I mean it's supposed to be summer time not Autumn. Maybe it’s got something to do with my property being an old Baptist chapel and he's trying to kick me out.
