Well, even Edinburgh is considerably drier than Perthshire, so there might be some truth in what you say. But of course without a bit of rain you wouldn't get the Tay flowing past the door! Actually, I see they are retaining a 15m strip along the Tay (and presumably the fishing rights), which seems a bit mean.
