The inside walls of the upstairs rooms in my house are covered in a white plaster (unfortunately applied in a 'mock' oldey worldey style) over the original haired lime plaster (which is in a fairly poor condition below it - although still bonded to the background).
This plaster is very white - similar to the 'amateur' patching type of plasters you can buy from B&Q and Homebase.
Does anyone know whether this is lime or a definitive way of testing whether it is? as I need to know whether my new lime plaster will stick to it or whether it needs to be removed before I skim with the new lime.
