It actually feels like we getting somewhere with it now. As a treat, for our family summer holiday we actually painted our first wall
The wall was plaster boarded over and in very poor condition but after many hours work I managed to save it.
Most of the first fix electrics are in and we even have some working light switches and sockets. The plumbing is now ready to have a boiler fitted. As well as threading wiring and plumbing through as discreetly as possible I've got the tricky bits of ducting in for an MHRV system.
The attic rooms are insulated and mostly plaster boarded.
We can walk on all the floors and all the rooms have walls.
The outside needs the wash house ridge pointing, a few square meters of stone pointing, a piece scarfing in a door frame, and few more coats of linseed paint on doors and windows, and the back limewashing. Plus all the passageway sorting.
I'll be starting on the inside lime plastering and pointing soon. It may sound strange but I'm really looking forward to that part although I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions before I start. And I hope I might even get the log burners in.
So with all that done, this winter should be a lot warmer compared to the last year's roofless endurance challenge.
