Which flooring?

We had a leak recently which resulted in our Oak flooring being distorted and in need of replacing. Upon lifting the floor we found that the actual floorboards are in very good condition, they're not the original obviously but we're still tempted to have them rather than an engineered oak. Our house was built in 1731.

They look in really nice condition - why spend money and do work when you don't need to? Especially to put down something similar.

The existing floor boards look great
Glad to see even though you have central heating, they haven't been butchered!
I can't imagine covering those up, nice consistent spaces between the boards!

I think those look great as they are. I'm sure someone on here will be able to advise you of a product which you could apply to protect them and keep them in good condition. I've used Osmo Polyx but I know others are a fan of Liberon.

A unanimous decision then, it's pretty much what we had decided to do but wanted to get others opinions.
