Hi
I'm in process of buying a house , it's a Victorian semi , iv had a survey done and there is damp in lounge just above skirting , and the timber floor seems discoloured at the joints like it's got wet at the joints and has some uneven parts. There is also artex ceilings which may have asbestos In it.the house also needs decorating a new bathroom very old and the kitchen needs tilling , the lights look old fashioned the outside is rendered in concrete which has some small cracks but is also not lime based so could be ripped off.
Would I be wrong to ask for a large discount for the work as well as a profit, I have heard 20 % profit is normal for a do upper or do I just ask for a discount of the works costs no profit?
