What to do with the old roll top bath

Instructions:
Dig a trench for the fire with a side branch for the flu to the stove pipe. Extend the trench deeper out the back for the drain. Build a wall to separate the fire part of the trench from the drain part. Lay two concrete fence posts across the trench to support the bath. Add bath checking that it slopes towards plughole. Seal all with several wheelbarrow fulls of cob made from sand, subsoil and straw. Add water to bath. Light fire. Strew water with assorted herbs and flowers. Wait an hour till steaming hot. Enjoy.

nice.. if I hadn't seen the instructions below (didn't appear on post for some reason?) I'd have thought it'd get too hot to use?.. could fancy that tho, bit of a bath addict, but alas my little garden is way to overlooked.. would be giving the neighbours quite an eyeful

Ah yes, I forgot to say you need a sheet of wood to sit on in the bottom of the bath if the fire's still going as the metal gets a bit too warm if you sit still.

ah, thought there must be something.. given my baths average at least an hour I'd need something to stop me getting a very hot bum! presume its rigged up with the fire far enough away to avoid parboiling? or do you just put out the fire if it starts getting to toasty? brilliant idea tho, I'd love one

Initially, I thought it was a contraption for producing quick lime.

Yes, I've a lovely picture of my daughter and her partner sharing the bath at night with candle lanterns hanging around in the trees but, as you suggest, we have to be mindful of Penners' heart.
