what surround for Aga in barn conversion

Now we've moved the chimney to the living-room, there's no chimney for the Aga in the kitchen when it arrives, only a plain wall at the back of it. What would do best around it? It's only a small electric one, with a 13-amp socket, 38 and a half inches wide. An old salvaged fire surround maybe? Or a salvaged shelf above? Tiles? A pictures-cue extractor? Any ideas would be most welcome. I can get to north-west salvage yards to have a rummage.

An old fire hood with an extractor inside at the top end, with tiles below this to the top rear of the aga, this may not be to everybody's taste but it is very effective from a practical point of view.

At the end it is all down to individual tastes and preferences, bearing in mind practicalities.

My Aga is against a plain white tiled wall with the stainless steel aga pan rack above it. It looks fine and was introduced into a room which was not a kitchen in the first place. I think it is quite hard to introduce a surround into an area , such as a barn conversion, so it might be worth considering not doing so. Alternatively look at the original structural wooden supports you already have around the building and construct something very simple and rustic out of reclaimed timber to blend in.
