Can anyone tell me what's a good material to use for vapour barrier behind some drywall/plasterboard? This is going on an outbuilding that had a damp corner due to a high outside ground level. The wall seems to be a rubbly/cobby type mix and the plan is to put in some vapour barrier then a frame for plasterboarding. This is a friend's property in France and the nearest DIY shop is miles away so we're wondering if any old damp proof membrane such as rubble sacks can be used or will these cause condensation or something horrible? I don't know much about vapour barriers and our time is limited here so any thoughts would be welcome.
Many thanks
