What is a Hempbut?

Whilst researching he history of my house I came across a document that I think may be relevant. It was written in 1800 and seems to describe an agreement to rent the property to two builders. It contains the phrase

" And also all that other Messuage or Tenement Garden Hempbut and other appurtenances thereunto belonging situate in the Town of Madeley aforesaid "

So my question is simply "What is a hempbut"
I have tried Google but all I get is information about marijuana and one other deed similar to mine. Can anyone help?

Hemp-but. obsolete. A garden plot, or a piece of field, on which hemp was grown.

I assume for ropemaking rather than erm, any other uses.

There is a rope walk about a mile or so from here where ropes were made for the local mines. I have never even thought about where the material to make ropes would have come from. Perhaps it was a way that a cottager could make a bit of extra money?
