Does anyone have any experience of wells? We have a covered brick well. Have measured the depth as being around 72 feet. I’m curious as to if there is anything at the bottom of it - it is full of beautiful clear water. Has anyone had a similar experience? A strong Magnet only brought up some bits of rust.

Do you have any scuba diving friends with a dive camera? Or even a local dive shop where you might find someone enthusiastic enough to help you?
I used to dive and had a dive housing for a compact digital camera plus a dive torch. 72 feet is about 22m and well within the capability of recreational dive equipment. Switch the camera to video and lower it down the well with the dive torch. Even better if you could borrow an LED dive light. Hopefully you don't discover anything to macabre!
