Hiya,
Looking to renovate a well in my garden. Has the usual handle/spout at the well head, but the syphon mechanism is at the very bottom - probably 40ft deep. Are these easy to repair? I guess I'll have to abseil down! An iron pushrod is activated by the hand pump, supported by several wooden beams as it makes its way to the bottom of the well. Lead piping returns the water to the top (or should if it worked!).
I have been told that any wells greater than 30ft in depth have the syphon mechanism at the bottom rather than the top.
Can add photos if that's helpful.
Thanks in advance
