I still want to know why some US houses from the 20s and 30s are described as Victorian.

I suppose we must be their museum, with whole towns full of houses from centuries past.

I think we tend to use the term Victorian as a style that refers to a time period for houses that are not necessarily built in a certain time period.

And, the US also has entire towns filled with houses from centuries past...

Yup - lots of buildings in (for example) San Diego stretch right back to the 20th century. :wink:
