Weather for limewashing?

Hi all,
I'm impatient to get limewashing the outside of our house as we're paying for scaffolding, but I'm doubtful as to whether I should start just yet. I'm in the middle of Suffolk and tomorrow's forecast is a misty 9 degrees rising to sunny 13, and tomorrow night's min is forecast as 4. Saturday there might be light rain and freezing overnight. I was hoping to get started tomorrow. Any opinions?

As we have most of a bag of St Astier NHL 3.5 left over from another recent job, I'm hoping to mix the limewash from this. I gather it should maybe be about 1 lime:3 water? It's to go over old limewash and exposed soft Suffolk red brick. And being NHL do I mix it just before using, or leave overnight, or?

I wouldnt, you need more than one coat of lime wash so it could stretch over a few days work.
Also , i might be wr4ong , but dont you use putty for wash? I wasnt aware that you could use NHL.

Thanks for the reply. I was only hoping to get one coat on right now (& more when conditions once again allow) - the chances of a continuous clear stretch of decent weather for 3+ coats is I think almost impossible in this country. (Besides I'd go insane or my arm'd drop off if I tried to do it all in one go!) What do you think re the temperatures?

As to the NHL, neither was I really, but I'm optimistic! Anyone think I can do it?

If the temps stay the same then its good for limewashing, you don't want it to dry too quickly, but I would assume you do want it to dry without freezing.

My understanding is that it doesn't matter much if you use hydrate, putty or NHL for limewash. I can't see why it would matter but I could be wrong.
