If you love old flint-and-timber buildings and you should find yourself in eastern Norfolk with a bit of time to spare, I do commend Waxham Great Barn to you. It's Elizabethan, reputed to be the longest thatched barn in the country, and has been beautifully conserved. Entry is free, and there's a café attached where you can get a passable coffee and a large slice of excellent cake.
My interior photo is somewhat distorted by my wide-angle lens, but it shows the wonderful roof structure. The matched flintwork has also been beautifully executed.
Just head for Waxham village and you can't really miss the barn. The beach is a few hundred yards away (lots of baby seals in the winter).
