I am struggling to imagine what "praying for climate justice" involves. How would one distinguish climate injustice from climate justice? The climate change which brought about the end of the last ice age would seem pretty unjust for mamoths, and possibly Neanderthals. Homo Sapiens Sapiens did quite nicely out of it so I suppose that makes it a just climate change.

No he's not a pro photographer, he's a climate scientist working on the ice mass balance of the Greenland Ice Sheet.
Praying for climate justice? Not my area of expertise. Maybe it refers to the fact that it's us lot in the industrialsed countries that have caused most of the damage, whilst the poor of Africa etc are the first to suffer the pain. That's an injustice. As for praying, I've no idea. Best ask the Archbishop and the Cardinal; they were both on the Wave.

No. I was offsetting my non-attendance at the Wave by planting oak trees. I have a cunning plan. The oaks will be mature in about 80-100 years, just at the time when the Greater North Sea will invade my land. The mighty oaks will fall into the mud and be buried, sequestering the carbon and thus providing a negative feedback to global warming.

We were there too, although I got trapped in the Imperial War museum which was full of tanks and war planes, and so missed the start of the march. This is us at the end. Afterwards we went to Trafalgar Square, where someone was busy setting up a yurt, and I thought of you Biff.

I've lost count. You can fit a surprising number of trees into six acres. I've got a few oaks from acorns I collected in southern France. Just helping the biosphere with adaptation!FamilyWiggs said:

I think that the photographs (unintentionaly) demonstrate the conundrum of caring for the climate and preserving old buildings. As about 60% of our power stations outputs are devoted to domestic demands which is overwhelmingly heating, the best way of minimising our reliance on coal is to simply insulate our homes to a very high standard. Now looking at that georgeous building with the corinthian capitals on its faux pillars, how in the world can one insulate that without destroying its good looks? Instead of closing down coal power stations and relying on flukey wind conditions, we should be concentrating on insulating,insulating, insulating. What is needed is more research into thin film insulation and inter seasonal heat stores.
As an after thought, tidal power is much better then windpower, you can switch your base load power staions on and off with a time switch, because every one knows when and what the tide flows will be, rather then keep your generators rotation in a quasi standby mode, so they can deliver full power when the wind drops down to zero in 2 seconds then perhaps returns after 2 seconds. For the life of me I can't think of any ACTUAL working tidal generating system in this country with its miles of coastline. Can you?
