Wash-leather

Hello,
My builder friend wants to use wash-leather to sit a small stained glass window into prior to the window being fitted into a butt and bead panel (internal). He'd prefer to use this than modern glazing tape. I have tried googling it but I can't find an on-line supplier. Does any know where I can buy it? He says it comes as a tape but is made of chamois.

Thank you Noj. I think I'll have to go with this as I can't find exactly what I want. I'm not too keen on self-adhesive things but there doesn't seem to be any alternatives. V

Hello,
Lying awake one night I had this sudden brainwave. Could I make something like wash-leather out of some old pieces of suede that someone kindly gave me? Next day the carpenter and I cut 15mm stripes of suede 'tape', and he installed the window by wrapping the suede around all the edges, fixing the window in place and then trimming off the excess. I'm chuffed with the result. Not sure if the picture displays but anyway I've tried to add a piccie. Vx
