I see that Historic Scotland are looking for someone to write a step-by-step guide to the restoration of castles and tower houses in Scotland:
Full details are at: http://www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk/search/show/Search_View.aspx?id=MAY063542&ln=ENA guide to Castle and Tower-House restoration in Scotland.
Historic Scotland wishes to commission an explicit guide to the considerations and management of a restoration project. The guide should, in an accessible and well illustrated format, provide guidance, principles and exemplary case-studies for restoring tower houses. It also should include frequently-asked-questions sections, check lists and diagrams to aid rapid assimilation and understanding. The brief provides an indicative format for the publication, and takes the form of a step-by-step guide to the process. The publication should be well-researched, fully illustrated, and where appropriate refer to other policy and guidance documents (Historic Scotland Technical Advice Notes, British Standards, The Scottish Historic Environment Policy etc). Historic Scotland is also intending to produce a history of castle and tower-house restoration in Scotland. Therefore, the guide does not need to address that subject.
