We need to install wall ties in our 17th century cottage in north cornwall,does anyone know of a reliable roofer/builder in the north cornwall area.We also need to re-bed some ridge tiles-how do you find the right person-or just resort to 'yellow pages' Help-please

Could you elaborate a bit on the nature of these wall-ties please? Why do you need to install them and what will they do? How about a picture or two? If you say wall ties to most builders they'll be thinking about the wee butterfly wires which tie the leaves of cavity walls together, but I'm sure that's not what you're referring to in a C17th property!
