Victorian House, No Cavity Walls, but needs insula

We have a wee (and I mean wee) Victorian mid terrace which has only double brick - no cavity - walls. Being a terrace, this isn't much of a hassle with the exception of our bathroom, which is stuck out at the back of the house, with two walls exposed and a sloping roof (no cavity again). It is therefore very very cold! The only way we can think to help insulate it is to use insulating plasterboard which we used in our kitchen.
Has anybody got any other (relatively inexpensive) ideas to help?

Alternating layers of aluminium foil and paper give good insulation without using a lot of space. Use as many layers as you can afford.

Well then if its like our old end terrace the rear extension
more un likely waz the outside karzie and scullery, When we waz buyin our place the money lenders insisted on futher insulation (daft beggers, it waz fine), still to get the money we had to do the job, used insulation and weatherboard, not to costly and very effective, the money men waz kept happy.
I have included a picture of the final result, 10 year on its still lookin fine.
