Having just has two stainless steel liners fitted to our chimneys We are left with the large liners open at the top.
The stacks were open originally and We did not want to alter the apearance.
Originally rain moisture would have been absorbed by the brickwork as the chimneys have a step half way up to prevent rain coming straight down.
With the liners there is nothing to stop the rain coming down (they are a good 8 inches in diameter)
Does anyone have any good ideas that would not spoil the appearance.
Stainless steel cowls are available, but I can not imagine anything more hiddeous sticking out the top of the chimney.
Thanks.
