Have you thought about making your own? Its quite easy and so much cheaper than buying ready made.
I can highly recommend http://www.textileexpressfabrics.co.uk/ I have been buying fabric from them for over 30 years and they are very reasonable

For insulation you can have curtains made up in any fabric, with thermal linings.

I would have said Milium linings, but there seem to be many other options nowadays.
Although velvet does look nice. We have at least two pairs we brought from our previous house but will never use. One of them is red, the other a lovely browny.

Ebay has a lot of bargains.
Even making your own can be very costly depending on the fabrics you choose. It's hard to find anything resembling velvet under £20 or £30 a metre. Our bay needs 30 metres, and I don't like anything under £70 a metre, which is why there are no curtains up!
