Does the site have a useful links section?

Where links for places like shops that have been used and recommended can be placed? The likes of handy and knowledgable tradesmen? And what got me looking for this section was Biffs link to powerswitch, which is a nice (php <IMG SRC="http://www.periodproperty.co.uk/discussing/smileys/smile.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=""> ) forum, looked nice and needs more reading.

It would save a lot of research for people like me just joining this great community of period house lovers.

A nice idea, Graham. However, I suspect that the gentlemen who run this website might feel that such links should be part of paid-for advertising on the site. They have a living to make, after all.

True, we all have to make a living and I don't want to detract from that, but many sites have a members recommendation area. If I find a site I like and is of use to me, I always click through some of the ads, even if it is to just repay the site owner for the time taken giving me help.......

Look at the leaded glass scenario, instead of having to look up who it was who "x" used each time someone asks, it could be put in a nice little area of the site.
Easier to do with a php site, as there could be different areas of the forum into which people could ask their questions / post their useful contacts.

Either way, at present if I asked for a decent lime plasterer in the staffs area, someone here will be good enough to find one/recommend one/tell me where to look, so I get the info and the site doesn't benefit. If that same person just posted that info once it would save them plenty of time for answering other questions and getting on with their own work <IMG SRC="http://www.periodproperty.co.uk/discussing/smileys/smile.gif" BORDER=0 ALT="">

I'm happy I found this place and thankful for those who have answered my questions and indebted to those who run it, so what will be will be.

Sorry, a site made with php software, such as the one I've linked to.
I find them a lot easier to use than this one, but I'd rather have this than nothing ;-)



A php forum
