I have used a liberon beeswax with turpentine to treat old dry wall and ceiling beams of oak in the past with great success. The timber seems to enjoy it and the finished result is a dull sheen, better than the dry beams we start with.
Trouble is the smell with lingers for a few weeks and as im using it as a final flourish in a room with soft furnishing and that we have to live in, i wonder if anyone has used anything else that as simple to apply ( brush ) but has less volatiles and smell?
