Traditional Mastic Pointing Metal Windows

Has any one any experience using burnt linseed mastic on metal windows?
I have installed new polyester powdered coated metal windows on a church and intend to traditionally point the windows with traditional burnt sand mastic. I am concerned it might not work can anyone advise me on whether it will work ?

I have already spoken to Wormersleys and they were very helpful,
but I wanted to be confident as the window supplier is saying it won't adhere.
So I want to hear if anyone had experience in the application of burnt linseed mastic so I can tell the window supplier that he has to do it.

Have faith. It'll stick. Takes a while to set but will last much much longer than the sort of modern mastics your window supplier probably prefers.
