I've only been on the forum for a short while and I've posted a few topics but did anyone notice that there have been 9000 topics on here so far?? That's some milestone I reckon...

I presume that's only a count of the new forum. Some of us old-stagers can remember the previous forum, which was "upgraded" about seven (?) years ago. Life was more controversial in those days (as some of you will remember)!

And I see that "she who must not be named" is still at #2 (to a certain Mr P) on the number of posts! Presumably this indicates that the individual posts counter includes the old forum? Although the joined date is the new forum... :?

Which - considering that her banishment to outer darkness occurred several years ago - gives an indication of the quantity of her posts before that. :|

Nemesis was expelled from the forum about a month before I joined, and as a lot of the posts were about that, and being naturally nosy, I read back into many hundreds of her threads ( which as she posted every ten minutes weren't difficult to find). She was very well-informed, sharp, lively - often fascinating - but too often it spilled over into hatred and hysteria if people dared to question her queenliness, and that was why she was expelled.

Indeed - I don't think anyone else on the forum was more knowledgeable than she was. Her advice was invariably expert, if uncompromising. It was a shame that disagreements too often descended into vitriol.

It's got to the stage that I can't imagine not reading this forum.

Agree. It's like my daily newspaper, I always have a look with my morning cuppas - such a lovely routine.
