I've just moved into a Victorian 2-up, 2-down terrace house, which has what I'm guessing is pine tongue and groove panelling half way up the wall in the hall and on the stairs. The previous owners have painted it with a very thick coat of silver gloss paint which I'd like to remove, but I'm not sure the best way to do this without ruining the panelling. Or am I better off removing the panelling entirely? Any advice on how best to get the house looking the way it should rather than a changing-rooms style disaster would be very welcome.
Thanks
