Timber mouldings by mail order

I'm trying to be lazy and get some architrave that's a reasnoble match for my house without resorting to making it.

Does anyone know of any good timber moulding suppliers who do mail order?

I've used Dresser (http://www.dresser.uk.com/ if you're interested) and they do a good match to the ground & first floor of my house, but for reasons unknown the attic has a different moulding throughout - it's just as intricate (and therefore no cheaper) than the lower floors, just different!

Also, does anyone know of anyone good Timber merchants in Shropshire? Telford area in particular? All Telford seems to contain is the usual collection of builders merchants, and a few independents who mostly do fencing timber.

I've never heard of timber mouldings being sold mail order. And to be honest, I think it would be very risky to buy them like that - particularly if you're trying match an existing moulding. Even "standard" mouldings such as ogee or ovolo can vary considerably in their shape from supplier to supplier, so you really want to be able to make a physical comparison between your existing moulding and your intended purchase.

I agree Penners, but in the absence of anything else it's Hobsons choice really. Local timber merchants to me are pretty useless. I could get mouldings machined, but it's the price that puts me off.

I know what you mean about mouldings varying in profile - even the modern ones vary a lot. Fortuneately what I need them for it won't matter too much if they don't exactly match.
