We do have woodpeckers outside. At least I think they're woodpeckers, and I hope they're outside :shock:

Flyfisher.....yes, they are quite loud, very easy to hear. I might try to record one of them and put it up for people to listen to.

Yes, I heard one as well. In the bedroom wall, just by the head of the bed whilst I was trying to get to sleep last night! We've heard several of them in previous years, but absolutely none last year and I hoped that by drying the house out I'd got rid of them, but obviously not.
Does anybody else have any reports of this being a bad year for DWB?

I don't know about a bad year for them but I've just got home to be told by my builder that he's collected 21 of the rascals!!!!! My chickens will love him!!
