The tribulations of a train spotter!

So - steam special from the NMR running along our railway line today! For we NERA members that's akin to Christmas. It actually would be running at the bottom of our drive, but I thought I'd treat myself and take the camera to the local (tiny) station.

Train over an hour late, cloudburst, got soaked to the skin, and at the crucial moment the Sir Lamiel steamed into view... the bloody camera batteries went dead on me!!! AGGGHHHHHH!!!!!

(It's not looking too well - late, leaking steam, and running very slowly...)

So I may make it to Carlisle Station (Sir William Tite) before it does, if I can get dried out ...

I don't think it will make the return journey along here possibly. Pity!

The drivers sometimes call me when they're bored and stop in the field so I can jump on board the loco and help drive - there's a great pub on the station platform...
