The really annoying Happy Christmas thread

It's almost "the day" so whether you are living in a building site and contemplating a festive meal of soup warmed over a camping stove followed by a shop bought mince pie, or luxuriating in front of a warm woodburner watching twinkling lights on the tree, Happy Christmas!

And yes, I may have overcompensated for lack of celebration the last few years!

We have a tree but it's "nowt special" so here is me and Santa, Its the real Santa because I asked him for a couple of cans of Pedigree and a set of spanners and I got them! Best wishes to all forum members.

When my lads were small (about forty years ago) they are now dads and we took our grandkids to see Santa today. Bought the car in 1969 and am still using it. Friday is "chippy" day and I always use this car to pick up the chips (as long as it does not rain or snow )

Great stuff! I helped my Dad buy his 1st car - again - not long ago, we tracked down a 1954 Triumph Mayflower at Mathewsons Auctions (of the Bangers'n'Cash TV programme) with a genuine 21k miles, never been welded. Needs some attention and it's now keeping him quiet, and out of the way of my Mum!

His first 1954 Triumph Mayflower was by all accounts a bit of a wreck, and it was only 10 years old at the time - but it was given to him! As a skint 17 year old he was grateful for it.

Well I've found a a viable wheeze to avoid dressing the Christmas Tree here at Fircroft. So far my rebuttal of all such suggestions have been grudgingly accepted although not with much in the way of grace.

My ploy? An objection from the CAA to fairy lights adorning the 60 foot Lawson Fir at the edge of our boundary because they may endanger light aircraft and delivery drones.

Quite difficult to take a picture of a mirror - anyway, it’s a 4’ x 2’ mirror advertising T&F Roper, Furnishing & General Ironmongers, Bell Hangers & Co.

Just in case anyone needs their bells hanging.

This year, I shall be doing the Christmas dinner followed by the washing up. Won't be the "traditional" turkey as there is only the two of us (plus cats).
