The house we desparately tried to buy and recently re-entered as a repo after we had purchased another, has finally sold for 5k less than we offered for it in Sept '08 . Strange how things work out sometimes.

Actually Joss, I happen to know that the house is riddled with dry rot, suffers from severe subsidence and is likely to be subject to a compulsory demolition order within months.

I think you bought around the same time as us Joss? We've also watched houses we liked when house-hunting climb down massively in price and become more hypothetically "affordable". What you have to wonder is, if you sold your house now, would you get what you paid for it in 08? If not, would those dreamy houses be any easier to afford?

Buying houses is a huge strain on one's emotions - personally I don't believe everything happens for a reason - I think it's all pretty random and we just have to make the best of it! Your house is in tidy shape, which means you don't have all the stress and worry of a major project I think?

Penners, that sounds exactly like the house we are living in now :lol: . However, in all serouslness, I am still annoyed about the other house, but this one is responding to my efforts, and I shall keep truckin along with it. Will get pics on sometime; when we got our new computer we lost the shrink pics facility. I have reloaded it from the old hard drive but for some reason it refuses to shrink the blighters automatically,
