The Dangers of Chapel Conversions

Many of you will know the problems of converting a chapel such that windows get divided in two. This can look unsatisfactory from the outside but you might not have realised the issues from the inside too:

I dunno how you get past that effect. My younger daughter lives in a chapel conversion, with windows like that. Top half = bedroom, bottom half = lounge. I wouldn't choose it, but she and her husband like it.

We've seen that one before, and I seem to remember that several people didn't spot it first off then either. That is a classic - you do wonder at what point did they stand back to admire their work after that floor had gone in and realise what they'd just done.

I don't know what are you all raving about, some pink stained glass on the upper part would have made a much better job of of it.

( my extensive pictoresque artistic talent was limited to playground brick walls ,hence " i get it", unlike some of you more sophisticated females that wished you had :wink: )

Possibly, but a nicely designed set of draperies would solve the problem of the rather inadequately small central window. If decently covered then people would no doubt imagine it much larger.
