Tango room!

As a decorator i have seen some rank colour schemes in my time. What were the previous owners thinking when they painted our now bedroom this tango mess! Its going to be another 6 months before i can get to work on it, does anyone have a couple of spare pairs of dark glasses

Curate's egg really:
The colour above the picture rail really brings out every detail of a very well done ceiling moulding.

Below the picture rail.....well, I blame Jocasta Innes et al...or should it just be "Changing Rooms" for the idea that a 'nice paint effect' can really transform a room. On second thoughts it must be "60 Minute Makeover" because the other two would have acknowledged that - however strapped for cash and time you are - the base wallpaper is badly textured and BADLY LAID and must come off ! Or you could just paint it black *** and have a couple of very atmospheric scented candles....

*** Unless your name is George Clarke..in which case it will be WHITE (to show just how much space you really have).
...but that means the next scene will be you attacking it with a sledgehammer! :shock:

More seriously though, isn't this a good example where personal taste has been applied sympathetically? From this limited view it looks as if the basic fabric of the house hasn't been hacked about so no real damage has been done.

Mmm, I agree, it's just a temporary eyesore, and that room will be gorgeous when it's redone. Anyone else remember that kind of scheme being fashionable? About 1999? I have to confess we did a similar rag rolled scheme at that time. Easy to paint over though!
