Hello all,
First time posting here. My partner and I bought our first property this March. It is an Edwardian mid-terrace in North London.
I have embarked on taking off the cement render as the internal walls were blown. There was the original plaster on most of the walls but thickly painted wall paper.
There is also a thick concrete floor in the whole footprint of the downstairs. The chimneys sadly have been removed and I believe the main cause of damp in the through lounge on the walls where the fireplaces were is coming from efflorescence salts. Maybe from the concrete too.
Questions I have is:
Do you think we should remove the concrete?
What should I do about the crumbly bricks? I am taking off the render carefully with a chisel and hammer (didn’t get on well with bolster and sledge as I have smallish hands).
Photos below.

Many thanks for taking the time to read and/or reply
