Many thanks for all the answers to questions I have already posted.
I am having troubles finding a builder near me in Birmingham that is willing to work with lime and generally treat old buildings with respect. I though I had found a guy in Worcester that was willing to come up, but it looks more and more to me that he is going to let me down. Does anyone have any recommendations for builders who are familiar with older properties and use traditional materials in the midlands???
I have seen there is a company called Heritage house in Bridgenorth. I spoke to the chap there a while back and he said he would come as far as Birmingham, but never got as far as a site visit. From their web page it looks like they are singing from the same hymn sheet as folks on this site. Can anyone recommend this company, or indeed any other, I am finding it had to believe there is such a shortage of more traditional builders round here, and although I'm quite handy, I think rebuilding chimneys etc is probably best left to professionals!!!
