I have recently had a survey completed on an Edwardian maisonette in SE London. This flagged up potential damp issues, with possible knock on effect of timber rot.
I had specialists in to review this further. They were supposed to do both a detailed damp AND timber survey, but neither did the latter as the property is occupied and they said they could not get access to timbers. Is this normal?
If the main survey has flagged up timber rot as a potential issue, how can I get this looked into by a specialist without having the scenario above happen?
Any suggestions gratefully received.
