This is probably one for the ladies as it's about soft furnishings
I will hopefully get back to decorating my study/spare bedroom soon (started it 6 months ago and so far painted one wall!). The colour scheme I've mentioned elsewhere but it's F&B Pale Power on the walls and Light Blue on the chimney breast, which basically means a sort of light minty green and a darker grey-green. I've got some red accessories left over from my old house which seem to go well with the greens. Anyway, my question is what fabric to put in the room (eg cushions, seat cover, etc - no curtains as there are wooden blinds) that will go with this bedspread which I bought ages ago:
I thought it would be nice to have a 'botanical garden' style room given my change of career to historic gardens but I can't find a print that will go with this bedspread. I quite like the idea of something scientific or bugs or butterflies but I get scared about too many patterns in one room! The safe alternative would be plain colours but that's boring.. Oh I don't like anything too floral (and Mr Juju certainly doesn't either). I don't want to show you a photo of the room as it's a terrible mess but it's a lovely big sunny room with 3 windows. It'll have painted or waxed floorboards and a black Art Nouveau fireplace with a mix of styles of furniture (modern bookcases/desk with 1930s small table & gramophone player!) I'd planned to make it look more bedroomy than officey but actually if I get a kind of museum/scientific/Victorian lady explorer style then that would work well I think! Does this make any sense? Are men groaning about such fluffy nonsense?
Anyway any suggestions gratefully received.
