Ooh-er... only just found this thread. I hadn't realised that the nation was rejoicing.

Thanks, forumers - I'm humbled.

The party will be after we have:-

* Moved in
* Found the kettle
* Unpacked everything
* Bought/assembled/built the necessary furniture to contain everything
* Read...and understood... the instruction book for the cooker
* Got the phone line connected
* Got broadband connected
* Worked out where the hell the nearest off-licence is
* Persuaded our (much closer than previously) daughter that we will NOT spend four nights a week babysitting

So I don't recommend fasting in anticipation...

Penners, If it's any consolation, we have not yet completed our jobs that match your tick list, and we moved in here in November!!

In fact the kitchen has only today been ripped out ( at last)!
We found that the pipework was GLUED ( yes that's what I said, ) glued to the walls, the pine units are very out of kilter and then we found---- best of all----- grey and pink marley tiles underneath!! Actually the grey and pink is very retro and right in fashion now-- dare I----- :?:

The kitchen work top suppliers turned up trumps, delivering, as promised at 7 am this morning.

The bad news is that after clearing the kitchen utensils out yesterday afternoon,I bent down to get a saucer from a cupboard in the utility room and was unable to get straight again, I suppose I could stretch out on the worksurface for a day or two, nice and solid for bad backs I believe.
