The following door will be taken out for various reasons and space will be bricked up to form solid double wall construction. The step as I understand sits on top of engineering bricks. Engineers will remain in place and DPC will be place and facing bricks bult up to about 2.7m to link with vertically with old Victorian bricks above.
Have got very good colour match for bricks (shout out to EH Smiths- absolutely brilliant).
I'm unsure what the step is made from, some sort of lime based product? . Have cut a small slice of it and has a yellow-brown/buff type appearance - please refer to pictures below.. Sorry I'm not very good with colour descriptions
Should I cut the step vertically so it sits flush with engineering bricks either side or take the whole of whatever product is covering the engineering bricks.
Don't think its cement as I recking this wall is probably at least 100 years old.
