Hello again!
With the living room almost complete (I still need to finish the floor) it's time to think about moving on to another room.
I've decided that the cellar should be next, but before I can really get started I need to replace the stairs. At the moment there's just a rickety old wooden affair that seems to have been thrown together, with no handrail. An accident waiting to happen basically.
I'd like to install a new cast iron staircase (I say stairs... it's more like just a few steps, about eight in total leading down in a straight line).
Does anyone happen to know of someone reputable who makes these things, perferably towards the south east? How about an idea of cost? I've searched around but I can't seem to find out very much.
If it turns out to be prohibitively expensive I guess I could just get a better wooden set made. How about steel or even aluminium? Are they a possible less expensive alternative?
