I can think of nothing more fitting than a copy of (sorry, 'omahge to :roll: ) the handsome structure whose photo appears on the front page of Gareth's linked PDF. It seems to satisfy all of your requirements.

But it's Gothic all right.

(The school used to use it as the armoury, where the CCF Lee Enfield 303's were stored. Maybe a suitable repository for your air rifle?)

thats not a bad idea having a omahge then you can have it as you want and be more flexible

Funnily enough, a lot of the best Suffolk follies (The House in the Clouds, the Tattingstone Wonder, Woodbridge Lodge), while exceptional architecturally, are follifications of useful buildings, quite ordinary houses mostly, so offer less scope for Heritage Open Days. The Plantation Garden in Norwich will be open, though, and that's very folly.

The plantation Garden looks well worth a visit (provided tomorrow's weather doesn't turn out to be as bad as forecast).

Was it mentioned on the PDF that you linked to above? I don't remember it, and I can't check because the site seems to have crashed.

Having committed pretty well every one that you could imagine (and few that you couldn't), I reckon I've built up a considerable resistance, if not immunity, to acts of folly.


I'd like it noted that I did not make any comment about my 43 years of wedded bliss, as part of this post.
