Someone built a huge snow goddess with an enormous bosom at the base of the track during the last snow attack. I wish I'd photographed her before she melted- she was wreathed in ivy! I wonder who made her? And why would you go to that effort of building on someone else's track unless you wanted to amuse the someone else who drove up and down it every day? In truth, I suspect a particular gentleman who has had the impudence to become familiar with me, but perhaps this is the fevered result of solitary fantasy.

Ilona- your mullions are highly enviable. And what kind of stone is your house composed of, pray?

My guess is that you are probably right with your surmising as to who the culprit was... o and did it purely for the entertainment value! I know my thought it was highly amusing to give her assets.... needless to say Ozzy my 7 yr old thought it was funny too.

As for my mullions... yes they are lovely...its part of the reason i fell in love with the place..the house is sandstone and dates to 1687.

Maybe she didn't melt but came to life like Pygmalion's girl-statue and froze her creator to death!

Your village church looks lovely Mr P, and ilona, your sandstone house is so very handsome. Just think of the frocks back then. I hope you've invested in some mantuas, with contrasting stomachers and petticoats, and some pearls? And did you know the fashion of the period was to have your portrait painted in your nightgown with tousled ringlets? I do hope you will oblige us in this respect.

i might be game for a laugh but seriously folks i don't think the world is ready for that sight !! haha i mentioned it to paul and he basically said if i did and it went up on the wall the ouse would collapse under the pressure!! charming!!
I did however state that my cleavage would at least be inkeeping with the aforementioned portraits but he just wasn't buying into the whole grand scheme. maybe its the ringlets that put him off??.. or maybe it was the very thought of knowing i would have to get my hands on a fetching outfit and dare i mention another pair of shoes hahaha

Oh, men are cruel in their denial of our basic needs! It is simply that your husband is jealous, and cannot bear the painter to gaze on your glory. I am sure you would look quite lovely gracing the walls of Simonswood Hall, and it would be so appropriate! I once had my bottom painted (also in America), the whole debacle is still a huge secret from Chris - sshhhh.

Today we finally got some decent snow. (4cm maybe. That is a lot around here and combined with the ice was enough to stop anybody from getting to work.)

We've a Police Station further down our road, but their cars usually exit the other end of the road to us, so that bit gets gritted.

But one patrol car decided to come our way today, which means going through a very slippery junction that so far everyone has negotiated safely. Except of course the patrol car today, who was not on any kind of call and who slid straight into the side of one of my neighbour's cars.

Still, we all make mistakes, and it was pretty stupid of the neighbour to leave their car opposite the junction. But, if they hadn't left the car there then chances are the police car would have demolished a garden wall that's only just been re-built.

Why was it re-built? Well, a police car slid into it in the wet of course. The house is owned by a policeman as well!
