Yes but when I go shopping I don't even accept a bag, saving the planet and all that, so when I buy a plug I just want a plug, not a whole lot of other brassware with it!

Brass plugs? All that embedded energy involved in mining and refining the copper and zinc, then the alloying process, then machining, plus all the associated transport between various factories.biffvernon said:

When renewing the waste in the old bath a few years ago the first thing I did before fitting was replace the new supplied brass chromed plug with a rubber one.
I did not wish to see the enamel damaged or marked.

This one is 1 & 3/4"...and only £3.95. But I tend to agree with Lime that brass plugs are rather prone to chipping enamel.

Thanks, that would be great (if they really are 1.25") and I'm still holding out for brass rather than chrome if I can. Leave it till next week to see if anyone comes up with somewhere over the weekend.
